Another year bites the dust and I, for one, am completely willing to say soooo long to 2012 and bring on 2013! I’m always excited about what the new year will bring and 2013 has me more excited than ever. I know there will be highs and lows but every new year makes us a little older and a little wiser.

Here are my most memorable 2012 moments and highlights!

Sweetest moment
President Obama tearfully thanking his young supporters after a long fought election.

Saddest
2012 will be known as the year of mass shootings and gun violence which culminated with the cruel slaughter of twenty 1st graders in Newtown, Connecticut. Chicago ended the year with 500 homicides and Florida saw the death of Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis, 2 young African American teenagers whose alleged murderers wrapped themselves in Florida’s notorious Stand Your Ground law.

Dumbest

It wasn’t very smart of Mitt Romney to put down 47% of the nation while his guests were being served by waiters making minimum wage.

Honorable mention…What in the heck was up with that old guy arguing with his chair at the Republican National Convention?

Funniest
Karl Rove blubbering on Fox News after the election was called for Obama. Priceless.

Sexist
ABC’s Scandal. Fritz. Olivia. Oval Office. Desk. HOT!

Most shocking

The sudden death of Whitney “Nippy” Houston.

Bravest
Felix Baumgartner jumps from the edge of outer space. Wow![youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6xqgWVgAok]

Loveliest

This POTUS and FLOTUS embrace was the most re-tweeted image of 2012.

Strangest
Honey Boo Boo. Am I the only one who doesn’t get it?

Proudest
Gabriel Douglas thumbed her nose at the nuts who told her she should tame her hair and try to look like a pop star while she was striving to become the first woman of color and the first African-American gymnast in Olympic history to become the individual all-around champion, and the first American gymnast to win gold in both the individual all around and team competition at the same Olympics. You go girl!
